In March we worked with colors. We made prints with primary colors, learned abut secondary colors, created big colored papers that we used to make our own collages. Our students created so many great pictures!
During free time our students had lots of time to work together on special activities. A large group experimented on what would stay on tape. In another part of the classroom enjoyed cooperative play with hammers, bands and tees. Lots of fun experimentation and cooperation!
The Week of The Young Child
The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. This year’s event is April 11-17, 2026! We will be celebrating and following along with these fun activities.
National Poetry Month
National Poetry Month each April is the largest literary celebration in the world. We will learn about poems, hear some new ones, and work on creating our own as a group and individually. Each child will work on writing their own poem called “I Am From” to help us learn that poems have an important place in our culture and our lives.
Garden
We are so excited, to get our caterpillars! We are setting up a habitat for them in the classroom to watch them grow bigger and change into butterflies! During April we will work on some garden projects and planting. We will be talking about Earth Day and how we can help our planet.
