Summer camps are off to a great start!

So far this summer our campers have enjoyed nature camp with a fun visit from Talk About Trees.  A great week of dance camp with Rachael Brown Dance! And a week of creating projects out of recycled goods.  We are making so many new friends as we have new campers each week.  The kids also love more time on the playground in the sun and working in the garden.  Picking our strawberries for snack has been really fun!

Hands On offers summer camp  classes through August 2!

Can I add more days?

Summer Camp Teachers

You will see Teachers Jennifer and Julie around this summer but you have probably noticed a few other new faces.  This summer we welcome Quinn, Malaika and Samantha to our camps as summer camp teachers.  Here is a little more info on Quinn, Samantha and Malaika.

Teacher Quinn
Quinn just finished her first year at OSU studying Civil Engineering and is working at Hands On during the summer again for the 5th year.  She is Teacher Jennifer’s daughter and enjoys working with children at Hands On as well as Ronald McDonald House, both as a baker and in the children’s program.  She is also working at a restaurant this summer saving money to study abroad.

Teacher Samantha
Samantha is going to be a senior at Cleveland High School.  She is a volunteer soccer coach for Street Soccer, a math tutor and she has many years of babysitting experience and is interested in continuing babysitting this summer and next year.

Teacher Malaika
Malaika will be a junior at Cleveland High School and has been in the Mandarin Immersion program since kindergarten.  At school she is a mentor for ELL (English Language Learners) working with immigrant and refugee students.   She has many years of babysitting experience and has organized a camp for kids in her neighborhood for the last 4 years.  Malaika is interested in continuing babysitting this summer and next year.
